I'm all about 3 things: crafts, practical gifts and #ballinonabudget.
A few Christmases ago my Momsies hit it out of the park with these easy yet cool drink coasters all on the cheap. Way to go Moms! So I'm breaking this craft down into 3 easy steps and passing it on from my family to yours, so you can stop being THAT guy who keeps giving out Buy One Get One Chipotle coupons.
"Come on Kevin, we all know you've been working at Chipotle for like 5 years and the coupons always say congratulations on being a wonderful employee on the back. You didn't even try!"
So take off your jacket, clear your table and clear your schedule for the next 5-8 minutes cause it's about to get real coasty up in here.
Check out what you will need in the top left hand corner of this page. You can get most of these items at your local craft store (USE THOSE COUPONS KIDS) or dollar store. The only exception is the 4x4 tiles, I got those bad boys at Home Depot.
Step 1: Flip the tile squares over and place 4 scratch guard felt pads on each corner. Try and place them a little more towards the center so that they don't stick out past the edges of the coaster. Press down firmly for 5 seconds on each felt pad before moving on to the next.
Step 2: Flip the coaster over and start stamping....on paper first. Make sure you like the look of it BEFORE you move to the actual coaster. For this particular gift, I chose two stamps.
Step 3: Spray the Mod Podge and let it set over night. Two warnings here.
Once you've completed all of the above, find a cute little box or wrap it in a beautiful bow and BOOM! Mission accomplished. If your gift recipient is a pun enthusiast like me, leave a note for one last set of brownie points. Maybe something like "West Coasters for life. " or better yet spell out "roller" with your alphabet stamps because that's just genius. Get it? It's a ROLLER COASTER. Ha! I love it! Why didn't I think of that before? Damnit John Hancock.
